South Island Earthquake Update 

Road access is now open to Kaikoura via State Highway 1 (coast road) with restrictions and the Inland Route Highway 70 is open 24/7.

There will be speed restrictions and traffic control in place on the route as work is continuing on many sections of the road. We recommend that you allow extra time and take extra care for your own safety and the safety of those working on the road.
